Back near the end of 2021, WWE made some baffling choices when it came to talent they released. Both Keith Lee & Karrion Kross were seemingly set to become stars for the promotion when they left NXT, but failed to be presented like stars upon hitting the WWE main roster. WWE would end up cutting their contracts. Everyone knows where Keith Lee ended up, making a big debut on AEW – but Karrion Kross has likewise found a new home now that his non-compete clause is up.
Karrion Kross Will Return To MLW At Superfight
During the latest episode of MLW Fusion, a huge free agent signing was announced for the episode. This would be revealed to be none other than Karrion Kross, who was back to his old ring name of ‘Killer Kross’. He will be returning to the ring at MLW Superfight on February 26th, which will mark his return to the MLW ring for the first time since 2020.
Kross is a big get for the ever expanding roster of MLW – and a possible top player for the promotion. Having vowed to not return to Impact Wrestling after poor contract handling in the past, and having minimal interest from AEW – his options were limited, but Kross will likely be treated like a star in MLW. Matches with the likes of Alex Hammerstone & Jacob Fatu are hopefully on the way – which could bring in a lot of viewers for the promotion.
MLW Deals Leave Outside Work As An Option
Should MLW sign Kross, it leaves the door open for Kross to appear on NJPW Strong, as NJPW has previously worked with MLW to bring in Tom Lawlor. It will also leave the indies open to Kross, where he will likely be appearing alongside EC3 & Braun Strowman. Considering EC3 & Strowman ran an angle at Final Battle: End of An Era, they’re expected back in ROH this April – possibly bringing Kross along for the ride.
Kross is just one of many free agents on the market right now, and MLW would be wise to bring in whoever they can get. Their production values and matches are generally of high quality, and just need some big names to bring in viewers.
