Prince Harry No Longer The Patron Of English Rugby
After losing his royal military titles and charitable patronages, the alienated royal has lost another role as Patron of English rugby. This highly-revered role was offered by Queen Elizabeth to Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge after Prince Harry abandoned it for life in the United States.
Prince Harry Loses Yet Another Role After Royal Resignation
The news was confirmed on the official Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that shows a video of the Kate Middleton playing rugby. The 40-year old royal expressed her delight via a caption that read: “I am so thrilled to become Patron of the Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union – two fantastic organisations who are committed to harnessing the power that sport can have in bringing communities together and helping individuals flourish.
“I look forward to working with them across all levels of the games, and to cheering England on in what promises to be an exciting year for both sports! C”.
Kate’s appointment as Patron of English rugby is largely unsurprising with the mother of three and her husband playing instrumental roles in assisting the Queen to run the kingdom. However, emerging reports claim that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are under enormous pressure to return home after two years of self-imposed domicile in the United States.
According to reports, the couple needs to return home badly to sustain their royal brand in the United States. Nevertheless, several sources within Buckingham Palace claim that the Patron of English rugby is not the only role that the estranged Prince Harry may be stripped of in coming days, as he may also lose his status as Counsellor of State.
Discontinuing as a Counselor of State will be a huge loss to Prince Harry and damage his chances of officially acting in a royal capacity once again.
