MJF made a choice last week, when he decided to screw Wardlow out of the TNT Championship. Wardlow offered a clean split, saying that he was willing to leave MJF alone – if MJF left him alone. Instead, MJF & Shawn Spears would be pivotal in Wardlow being unable to claim the TNT Championship from Scorpio Sky – and tonight will have a chance to explain himself.
MJF Is Sending Wardlow Home
With a wall of security to block Wardlow from hitting the ring, MJF would start by saying that unlike Wardlow – he follows through with his business deals. If Wardlow won the belt, he could have ket it – but he just couldn’t do it.
CM Punk would be brought up, saying that if it wasn’t for Wardlow – he’d have just lost again. If Wardlow didn’t sign a contract with MJF years ago, no one would know who he was. Now, Wardlow is still under contract to MJF – and once the mother of Wardlow was mentioned? He’d try to storm the ring.
Security would stop Wardlow, and MJF would say that he will now be paying Wardlow to stay home. There he will stay until he becomes irrelevant, and becomes just like when MJF just tried to help him.
Adam Cole Steals A Win… And Some Gold!
The history of Ring of Honor is now able to easily bleed into AEW, and tonight two of the greatest ROH World Champions of all time will meet on AEW Dynamite. Adam Cole is the only three time ROH World Champion, while Jay Lethal has one of the greatest reigns in the belts history when he held it for 427 days. Cole was the one to end that reign at Death Before Dishonor XIV – and now, they’re both ranked in the Top 5 of AEW – and a win tonight could get someone a shot at the AEW World Championship.
Lethal would kick off this match with some heavy chops, and Cole came back with the forearm blows. Hip toss into dropkick would land, before Cole shot back with an enziguri. Cole got cocky on the apron, and would take a dropkick to the back before a set of suicide dives.
reDRagon would come to the stage, but stayed away from the ring for now. Cole would apply a sleeper hold in the middle of the ring on Lethal, only for Lethal to break free. Figure Four Leg Lock would be applied, but Cole was able to find the bottom rope.
reDRagon allowed Cole to get the roll up, before a superkick landed. The Boom was blocked into a cutter, before Lethal Injection was met with an anti-air kick. Panama Sunrise landed, but that was not enough to take Jay Lethal out.
Lethal Injection would be attempted again, but reDRagon distracted the referee while Cole hit a low blow and The Boom for a win. Cole would grab the microphone and said that is still the man who will take the gold from Hangman Page.
Three men or one man, Page would hit the ring and wasn’t worried about the odds, as he took off his leather belt and took Cole to the woodshed. Numbers would catch up to him, before Cole would steal the AEW World Championship.
