Keith Lee was given a chance to team up with The Factory. However, like a sensible person – turned the offer of QT Marshall down. Now, Lee has a singles match against Marshall – who will look to hand Lee his first singles loss in AEW. Having the Diamond Cutter in his back pocket, anything is possible – but it’d be a massive upset.
Team Taz Beats Down Keith Lee
QT Marshall would mouth off to Keith Lee as this one started, only to get dropped with a headbutt. Marshall was lifted by his arm, and was let down only to get hit with the Grizzly Magnum double handed chop. Keith Lee would throw QT Marshall from corner to corner, before Marshall came back with a missile dropkick off the top rope – only getting a one count.
Lee would send Marshall off the ropes, and wiped him out with a massive lariat. Aaron Solow would run the distraction at ringside, allowing Nick Comoroto to grab the leg of Lee. Marshall hit a superkick and looked for the Diamond Cutter – only to be blocked, and nailed with Big Bang Catastrophe.
After the bell, Solow & Comoroto tried to attack Lee, and were both wiped out with ease. Team Taz hit the ring next, with Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks doing some real damage – with Hobbs laying Lee out with a spinebuster.
Swerve Strickland Is Here To Stay
At AEW Revolution, their latest big signing was revealed as none other than Swerve Strickland. When looking for his first challenger, Tony Nese would step up. Not only is he sick of being overlooked due to new signings, he’s got lots of experience wrestling Swerve on Friday nights. Nese has a chance to shut Swerve down tonight, but he gotta remember who’s house AEW is now.
Swerve would grab the wrist of Nese as he went for the collar and elbow tieup, but Nese would find the ropes. Commentary would discuss who’s house AEW is, and they’d agree it’s Tony’s House… just not Tony Nese. Swerve would get the armdrag on Nese, before looking for the single leg crab.
Nese would get tripped up by Swerve before eating a dropkick to the side of the head. Swerve would get sent to the floor, but landed on his feet. On the floor, Nese would look for a lariat but get kicked in the face. Nese would use the ring apron to blind Swerve, before stomping on his head. Back in the ring, Nese got a two count off a dropkick, before taking some time to flex on Swerve.
Tony Nese Takes His First Loss In 2022
Nese would apply the bodyscissors on Swerve, before laying in the chops to the chest of Swerve. Things would get physical, and Swerve took the hotshot over the top rope – before avoiding the moonsault. Swerve hit the snapmare before coming off the middle rope with an uppercut, before a pop up driver, and rolling right into a brainbuster.
Nese would catch Swerve on the top rope with the rolling uppercut, before kicking him onto his shoulders for the gutbuster. Running Nese would be blocked, before Swerve got his head kicked off with a spin kick. A picture perfect 450 Splash would land, but Swerve was able to kick out at two.
Nese would get rocked with a kick on the apron, before taking the double foot stomp. Rolling flatliner in the middle of the ring would get the two count. Heel kick to the head and a massive double stomp later – and Swerve Strickland claimed his first of many AEW victories.
