We’re just a few days away from figuring out who the Undisputed ROH World Champion is, as Bandido is set to face Jonathan Gresham. Bandido is carrying the modern ROH World Championship, but after missing Final Battle 2021 – Gresham would claim the classic design of the ROH World Championship.
Supercard of Honor 2022 is the first ROH show to be run under the ownership of Tony Khan. While we have seen reports of Gresham being in talks with Tony Khan to sign for both AEW & ROH, the same can sadly not be said about Bandido – who was caught off guard by Khan purchasing the company earlier this year.
Bandido Has Not Heard From Tony Khan
Speaking with Más Lucha, Bandido would recount being surprised when Tony Khan broke this news on an episode of AEW Dynamite. He’d have the following to say.
“It’s incredible but it did take me by surprise, admittedly. They always say that change is for the better, so I’m interested to see what is next in this new phase of Ring of Honor. If I continue, and I would love to continue, I will be thrilled to be there. If not, then I look forward to closing that chapter the best possible manner.”
When asked if he’s been in contract with Tony Khan, Bandido would have the following to say.
“They haven’t reached out to me. We have not spoken since the 2019 Battle of Los Angeles Tournament, unfortunately.”
One Of The Best Luchadors In The World Today Would Be An Asset In Any Roster
Right now, AEW is building up an incredible roster – and while things are getting rather packed – they’d be fools to not keep Bandido around. Even if he’s just signed to show up for Ring of Honor, where he’s happy to continue – Bandido remains one of the best luchadors in the world, and someone who continues to gain hype.
We can only hope that he is able to meet with Tony Khan during Supercard of Honor, and they’re able to come to an agreement.
Do you think Khan will offer a contract to Bandido? Could we see Ring of Honor exclusive contracts offered? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
