Actress Katheryn Winnick has praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in light of his response to the Russian attack on the country.

According to reports, the Ukrainian President was given the chance to evacuate the country by the United States, but turned it down in order to stay and fight against Russian aggression.
And for Katheryn, she felt that his actions epitomised the tough Ukrainian spirit that the people are known for. After all, she does have connections to the country by virtue of the fact that she was born to Ukrainian parents.
In an interview with Fox News, she said: “I’m very proud to be Ukrainian. We have very different traditions and culture and the Ukrainian spirit is indomitable, it has such strong perseverance.
“I am so proud that he is the leader that we have.” Things have been made especially difficult for Katheryn since she is watching from afar. She was born in Canada but has managed to achieve US citizenship.
But in and amongst that, she has a strong bond with the country, as she does speak Ukrainian. Aside from her own heartbreak, she urged people to come together to put an end to the war, given that it could threaten global security.
She added: “This is not just a fight for Ukraine, but it’s really a fight for all of Europe, for democracy. All [of the] civilized world has to help Ukraine for the sake of humanity.
“I just want everybody to unite and stop this war.” Katheryn’s comments were echoed on social media. People were behind the actress and demanded that the suffering be put to an end as soon as possible for all those affected.
One person wrote: “The world is united in its condemnation, horror and disgust at the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine. Your pain is our pain!”
Katheryn is just one of many people that has had to watch her country go through turmoil. However, given the spirit of her countrymen that she has described, this is exactly the type of courage they will need to overcome this. So there you have it folks.
