Kazuchika Okada is heading into the quarter finals of the New Japan Cup to face CIMA, but won’t get a chance to test him in preview tag team matches. Instead, he brings Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI to battle familiar foes in Suzuki-Gun. Minoru Suzuki, Taichi & DOUKI are all out of the New Japan Cup, but defeating one of their three champions they share the ring with tonight would get them into the title picture all the same.

The CHAOS Dream Team Is Draped In Gold

Suzuki-Gun would attack before the bell, with Suzuki taking aim at Hirooki Goto with some heavy strikes. Goto shot back with a leg lariat, before DOUKU rushed him. Bishamon would hit the hip toss senton, before Suzuki & Goto traded forearm blows. Goto was caught in the ropes with an armbar, while Taichi choked YOSHI-HASHI on the floor.

Suzuki would use the bell hammer to torture Goto, while DOUKI used that steel pipe. Back in the ring, DOUKI hit a running double stomp – before Goto would take the stiff kicks of Taichi and a kneebar from Suzuki. Okada would try to kick Goto free, only to have his ankle snatched. Suzuki would hit the boot to the face but missed the PK – with Goto able to fight free… until almost being dropped with Gotch Style Piledriver.

Goto would counter the GSP and get the tag to Okada, who was met by Taichi. Back elbow into the DDT would land, before DOUKI ran into the ring and right into a flapjack. Okada would nail the big boot, before YOSHI-HASHI got the tag. DOUKI would nail Daybreak DDT for a near fall, before being met by both members of Bishamon. Shoto would land, and this one was over.

Zack Sabre Jr. Is On Route To His Second New Japan Cup

Zack Sabre Jr. is looking to win his second New Japan Cup, but needs to face perhaps the one man who can match his technical skills. Great-O-Khan has an uncanny ability to match the style and skills of just about anyone on the roster, and that includes ZSJ when they met in the 2021 G1 Climax. Now, they battle with a spot in the Quarter Finals on the line.

Great-O-Khan would head to the outside and grab a chair to start this match, but ZSJ would tell him to just fight him. GOK hit the ring and started to grapple with ZSJ, and would end up in a knee bar before rolling to the ropes. GOK would look for a leg lock, before moving to the Fujiwara armbar. ZSJ fought off the submission attempt, before having to block a cross armbreaker attempt. GOK would move into a kneebar, but ZSJ rolled to the ropes.

ZSJ would snatch the leg of GOK, but as the heel hook was applied- GOK would have to quickly grab the ropes in a state of panic. Back to their feet, GOK would get the double leg takedown, and a leg lock would get applied by both men. They rolled past the ropes and to the floor, neither man wanting to let go even as they hit the floor.

    Great-O-Khan Nearly Loses His Arm

GOK would use the ring as a weapon, before looking for a kneebreaker in the ring. ZSJ would counter, but GOK knew the arm kick was coming and was able to block into a leg lock. The ropes were the saviour of ZSJ again, before he’d almost take a Gutwrench Suplex. ZSJ would hit the tornado DDT, earning a chance to breathe.

Forearm shots would be exchanged in the middle of the ring, with GOK able to easily find his feet. ZSJ would stand and fight, before being dropped with the Mongolian Chops. The leg of GOK was grabbed, but was able to counter… only for ZSJ to grab control of the leg himself.

Powering his way out, GOK would get his arm kicked before ZSJ was able to move into an Omoplata. GOK would try to power out – only for ZSJ to get a two count off a crucifix pin. A knee claw get applied to the right leg of ZSJ, before hitting a powerbomb style throw for a near fall.

Sheep Killer was applied, and after a backbreaker ZSJ was starting to fade. GOK would let go, wanting to win with the Eliminator, and ZSJ countered into a triangle choke – and this one was over moments later. GOK was forced to tap out.

Who can possibly stop ZSJ? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
