While their reign as NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Champions has come to an end, everyone still knows Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto are perhaps the best pure trio in NJPW. Tonight, they will once again look to prove this as they take on Minoru Suzuki, TAKA Michinoku & DOUKI in a six man tag team clash.
CHAOS Have The Strongest Trio In NJPW – Regardless Of Championship Status
Suzuki-Gun would attack before the bell, with Minoru Suzuki going after Tomohiro Ishii. They’d batter each other with elbow strikes in the corner – both men being renowned for their hard hitting style. Neither man would want to show any sign of weakness, and the fight would spill to the outside.
Suzuki would get the upperhand, and tagged out to Michinoku. The junior heavyweight legend would apply a side headlock, before Ishii got too much ground and Suzuki came into the ring to apply an armbar. Suzuki-Gun pressed their boots into the faces of his opponents, before Ishii nailed a suplex on Suzuki.
Hirooki Goto would finally get into the match, but a basement dropkick from Kanemaru would send Goto tumbling into position for the Figure Four Leg Lock. Goto would avoid the hold and nail a midkick – before tagging in YOSHI-HASHI. Michinoku would get in and apply the Just Face Lock – before Ishii ran the save.
Suzuki, Kanemaru & Michinoku were run down with shoulder tackles – before Bishamon nailed Headhunter and SHOTO for the finish. You can’t stop these three with a weak link like Michinoku in play – simple as that.
Los Ingobernables De Japon Are Down One Man
Los Ingobernables De Japon are down to three remaining members in the New Japan Cup, and could well have one by the end of the night. However, while Hiromu Takahashi & Shingo Takagi prepare for their matches, Tetsuya Naito, and BUSHI are here to battle the United Empire. SANADA was set for this match, but a broken orbital bone from Will Ospreay has put him on the injured list.
Before the bell even rang – the United Empire would rush down Naito & BUSHI. Ospreay took BUSHI, while Cobb got some blows in on his next opponent. Naito was able to get back into control and applied the kneebar on Cobb, despite not having gotten his ring jacket off yet. BUSHI would stomp the knee as well, before Naito would get caught going for the dropkick in the corner.
Ospreay would push the pace of the match after the tag – while Cobb got a cheap shot in on Naito before rolling him into the ring for Ospreay to take advantage. A heavy chop would see Naito stumble into the corner, before Cobb got the tag.
Cobb would ride Naito like a surfboard, 280lbs standing on Naito’s back. Naito would manage the tag to BUSHI, and he’d crush Ospreay on the outside with a dive. Back in the ring, Ospreay hit the spinning backbreaker – but Naito stopped Hidden Blade.
Cobb would almost get Tour of The Islands, but Naito blocked before countering Destino into the Spin Cycle. BUSHI was dropped by Cobb before Hidden Blade brought this match to an end.
