House of Torture are out of the New Japan Cup, as EVIL failed to get past Hiromu Takahashi. Now, they’re faced with Suzuki-gun in an eight man tag team match, as El Desperado, Minoru Suzuki, TAKA Michinoku & Yoshinobu Kanemaru share the ring with them. SHO has been determined to get a title shot from El Desperado, and tonight is another chance for him to get that shot with a pinfall.
El Desperado Has All But Accepted The Challenge Of SHO
Minoru Suzuki would start alongside EVIL – and House of Torture weren’t keen on ambushing Suzuki-Gun before the bell. Togo & EVIL would try to work on the arm of Suzuki, only for Togo being the one getting tortured. Kanemaru would hit the ring, while on the outside SHO was choking Desperado and EVIL was attacking Minoru Suzuki.
Yujiro would help beat down Kanemaru before SHO entered the ring and hit an elbow on Desperado – focusing on the champion briefly before going after the chinlock. EVIL would hit some heavy blows before tagging out to Togo. A basement dropkick would trip Togo up before Desperado & SHO got tags.
Desperado nailed a big back suplex for a two count, before the spinebuster was countered. SHO would nail a spear, before Desperado would slam him down with the second spinebuster attempt. Yujiro & Michinoku would get tags, and Suzuki would stop EVIL after he’d try to choke Michinoku out. Yujiro would hit Big Juice on Michinoku as EVIL & Suzuki brawled to the floor – and this one was over.
Hiromu Takahashi & Shingo Takagi Have Zero Issues Working Together Ahead Of Their Singles Meeting
Los Ingobernables de Japon will clash tomorrow with Hiromu Takahashi taking on Shingo Takagi. However, it will be a fair and honest fight – where they find out who the best man is. Tonight, they clash with a team of veterans, with Great Bash Heel and Tiger Mask in a trio match.
BUSHI would start this match alongside Tiger Mask – only for Hiromu Takahashi to attack from behind. Tiger Mask would be able to fight the duo off before a flying forearm took BUSHI down. Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma would get some blows in on BUSHI before Tiger Mask hit the ring again. BUSHI would corner Tiger Mask in L.I.J territory.
Shingo Takagi would hit the vertical suplex on Tiger Mask before Hiromu hit the ring. Tilt-A-Whirl backbreaker got Tiger Mask to the tag, and Togi Makabe would trade laraits with Shingo. Honma would come in after a double down – and nailed a Kokeshi on Shingo before a lariat of his own. A forearm exchange saw Honma come out on top – but the assist from BUSHI & Hiromu allowed Shingo to nail Pumping Bomber for the win.
Will Ospreay & United Empire Claim A Six Man Tag Team Win
Tomorrow night, we get another chapter in the storied rivalry of Zack Sabre Jr and Will Ospreay – as they look for a spot in the semi-finals of the New Japan Cup. Tonight, they clash in trios action, as ZSJ brings DOUKI & Taichi and Ospreay brings Great-O-Khan and Aaron Henare.
GOK would kick things off alongside Taichi, with Taichi quickly being taken into a bear hug. Taichi fought free before two hard Mongolian Chops. Henare would tag in and choke Taichi in the corner, before Ospreay came in with an Airplane Spin into the Spinning Backbreaker. A dizzy Taichi was able to kick out at two, before Henare applied the Greco Roman Nut Lock in the corner.
ZSJ & Ospreay would pick up the pace in the middle of the ring, with Ospreay able to go for the back handspring kick – before ZSJ caught him into the STF. Ospreay got too close to the ropes, and ZSJ tried to move into a different hold – but was a step slow. Henare got the tag and took a neck snap, before DOUKI tagged in and hit a springboard coffin splash and double stomp for a near fall.
DOUKI Chokey would be applied, but Ospreay helped to get Henare free. Henare would absorb some lariats from DOUKI before missing Hammerhead. DOUKI would drop Henare and look for Daybreak DDT, only to be caught into Rampage. Streets Of Rage landed, and this one was over.
