Tomorrow night, Minoru Suzuki intends to treat Hiromu Takahashi like a Young Lion when they meet in the second round of the New Japan Cup. However tonight, he brings the rest of Suzuki-Gun along for a fight with L.I.J. Suzuki will bring El Desperado, Taka Michinoku and Taichi – while Takahashi brings Shingo Takagi, BUSHI & Tetsuya Naito!
Minoru Suzuki Is Ready To End The Career Of Hiromu Takahashi – SHO Sends A Message To El Desperado
As Suzuki-Gun was making their way to the ring, Hiromu Takahashi would fling himself from the ring – smashing down onto Minoru Suzuki. Suzuki would respond with some downright violent strikes, and would pull Hiromu into the ring for more. Takahashi would give as good as he would get, driving Suzuki into the L.I.J corner – where BUSHI would force the tag.
Suzuki didn’t care, and would move to the outside – where he kept his focus on Takahashi. BUSHI would be met by Taichi in the ring, as Suzuki & Takahashi had their own match out on the floor. In the ring, BUSHI was being choked by Taichi, but all the focus was on the fight on the floor.
BUSHI was in less danger despite being surrounded by three men, which sums up the fury of Minoru Suzuki. A double hurricanrana would allow BUSHI to make the tag, which allowed Naito to clash with Taichi – who was cut down in the corner with some quick kicks.
Shingo would get the tag, and lay in a heavy lariat before the L.I.J would rush him down. Taka Michinoku picked a horrible time to make a tag, and Pumping Bomber would see the end of this match – with Shingo barely having to stand over Michinoku to complete the pin. Hiromu & Suzuki would brawl off to the back – and their match tomorrow will not be one to miss.
Before we’d get to the next match, El Desperado would be attacked by SHO – who drove the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion into the ring post. SHO was clearly looking for a title shot, hoping to claim his first taste of singles gold in NJPW.
Zack Sabre Jr. Shows No Mercy To His Suzuki-Gun Partner
Zack Sabre Jr. was able to easily move to the second round of the New Japan Cup, having been matched up with a Young Lion. Now, he faces fellow Suzuki-Gun member DOUKI in the second round. After winning the 2018 New Japan Cup by tapping out one top star after another, DOUKI is a potentially easy win for ZSJ – but anyone would be a fool to take DOUKI lightly.
DOUKI wouldn’t even allow ZSJ to get to the ring before diving onto him. Into the ring, DOUKI would send ZSJ back outside for another dive. ZSJ would cut DOUKI off, and block the cradle pin into a triangle choke. Finally getting his jacket off, ZSJ would get tossed around the ring with some armdrags, before taking a dropkick.
DOUKI would tie ZSJ up into a surfboard stretch, before working into a Romero Special. ZSJ would grab the arm of DOUKI and bent back, before grabbing the leg of DOUKI and doing the same thing until the ropes were found. DOUKI threw some strikes, which just saw ZSJ look annoyed in response, before being struck to the mat.
With the crowd behind him, DOUKI would be able to escape the grasp of ZSJ – before getting taken into the Boston Crab. DOUKI would get to the ropes, and nail a Gory Special on ZSJ, before looking for the DOUKI Chokey – only to get locked into a modified Figure Four Leg Lock.
He’d get free again and DOUKI would be told to bring his best in a strike exchange – and a lariat would take ZSJ down. Daybreak DDT would land, before DOUKI-Chokey was applied. ZSJ was turning purple, but was able to slip free only to get rolled up for a near fall. Cremation Lily was applied, and ZSJ got the submission finish.
