At 23-years-old, Paris Jackson—the only daughter of the late Michael Jackson—announced her first tour. That’s all well and good and you hope that as a second-generation performer there is a support system and management team to make sure she doesn’t get swallowed up by the entertainment world.
What has piqued the interest of many isn’t so much that she is embarking on her first tour—it’s who is producing the tour. Paris Jackson will be doing the tour with AEG, the company that handled The King of Pop’s final tour, according to TMZ.
Paris Jackson to Headline AEG-Produced Tour
AEG had some sour legal issues with the Jackson family as Paris’ grandmother Katherine Jackson sued the production company in 2010. It was the Jackson family’s belief that because AEG hired Dr. Conrad Murray they had a hand in Jackson’s overdose death at 50 years old. Murray was eventually found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and served just under two years behind bars. Both Joe and Katherine Jackson would file separate wrongful death suits against Murray and AEG.
Joe Jackson would pull his case while AEG dodge a bullet for hiring Murray in Katherine’s case. The finding was that abuse of drugs is what caused the pop singer’s demise and not purely the actions of Murray. As a result of his role in Jackson’s death, Murray lost his medical license in Texas and was suspended from practicing medicine in California and Nevada.
Back to Paris Jackson, she begins touring with AEG later this week with the first show being in Paris on Saturday, March 5. This month will be busy for the young musician as she has a west coast tour with Patrick Droney after her debut tour. In 2020, Paris dropped her debut album Wilted but debuted in music two years earlier as part of The Soundflowers duo with Gabriel Glenn.
