Royal biographer Robert Hardman has revealed in his newly published book ‘Queen Of Our Times: The Life Of Elizabeth II’ that Prince William was left far more devastated with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit the royal family after the highly controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey was released.
Prince Harry’s Royal Exit Affected Prince William More
Hardman wrote, “For Prince William, there was the added anguish of seeing the younger brother whom he had protected (and who had idolised him) now throwing incendiary and, in some cases, unanswerable charges into the public domain, fully aware of their likely impact.” “William, says one friend, was as low as I’d ever seen him”, he added.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Shocking Resignation Caused Prince William A lot Of Pain
Though Prince William has never publicly criticized his brother for abandoning the royal family, the Duke of Cambridge has reportedly been distressed by the controversy that the entire resignation saga has brought the royal family..
Nevertheless, royal author Katie Nicholl recently claimed that Prince William will get an opportunity to settle the rift with his brother at the platinum Anniversary Jubilee Celebration of Queen Elizabeth set to hold in June this year if Prince Harry shows up. She told an online newspaper “Both brothers will have to make concessions. The Jubilee should give them more of a chance to trash it out.”
However, Prince Harry’s appearance at the celebration rests partially on the outcome of his legal tussle with the UK Home Office. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the UK in early 2020 after resigning from the royal duties.
Despite their claims of unfair press treatment as the reason behind their decision, some royal experts believe that the controversial couple abandoned their duties for financial greed.
Some royal fans have openly stated that they don’t even want the couple back in the royal family putting the couple’s alleged ‘Part-time royals plan’ into jeopardy. Prince William and Prince Harry along with their father Prince Charles and uncle Prince Andrew remain the four Counsellors of State in the British monarchy.
