The pair, for their part, have been through a turbulent period of late. Matthew had accused Shanna of being unfaithful, something which she denied. Matters were not helped when Matthew was arrested for domestic violence, which he also went on to deny.
Soon after, Shanna had confirmed that she was pregnant indicating that Matthew was the father only to then back track on those comments by confirming that it was a false positive.
With so much having taken place in a short period of time, it was understandable that fans were left none the wiser when it came to knowing whether they were together or not.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Shanna said: “I would not be with a man who was portrayed as a monster for the past two years of our relationship.
“The headlines have been overwhelming and many [of them are] untrue…Matthew is a good and loving man whom I will always care deeply for.”
Despite her affection for him, Shanna admitted that she is not in a relationship with Matthew. Instead, the duo are trying to support each other through this very difficult period.
That is not to say that they will not get back together, but as of now, there is simply too much to navigate. And this is understandable for the following reasons.
First of all, Shanna has to weigh up whether or not she wants to give things another go knowing that there could be a similar ‘domestic’ incident.
Secondly, in any event, if Shanna were to get back together with Matthew, there is always the possibility that the reaction from the fanbase could be very hostile. After all, her conduct may then be interpreted as her endorsing his alleged violent behavior.
