Earlier in the night, Duke Hudson claimed he can beat anyone in the ring while bragging to Dexter Lumis. Lumis posed the question – what about GUNTHER. Now, Hudson must face the Ring General in singles action, and prove his claims.
LA Knight Challenges GUNTHER For Stand & Deliver
Hudson didn’t look too scared, and would pieface GUNTHER early in this match. GUNTHER would hit a shoulder tackle and body slam. Hudson would throw some chops, before learning what a real chop feels like.
GUNTHER followed up by attacking the face of Hudson, before a elbow to the nose. Hudson would take two more chops from GUNTHER, the sound echoing out in the Capitol Wrestling Center. GUNTHER put Hudson on the apron, and he’d flow back into the ring for a German Suplex.
GUNTHER survived, and two more chops and one simple powerbomb? This one was over, and Hudson might not claim he can beat anyone after this one. The chest of Hudson was bleeding from the chops, and yet LA Knight would still hit the ring after GUNTHER mentioned his name after the bell.
GUNTHER shut Knight up fast, and said he represents all that’s wrong with this sport today. All talk, no skill. Knight could talk himself into a Wrestlemania main event, but he’d choke. Knight would punch GUNTHER in the face, and made the challenge for Stand & Deliver. MSK would hit the ring to help Knight out, and were able to take GUNTHER & Imperium down in the end.
Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai Claim The Dusty Cup
It’s time to see who will win the 2022 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Out of a field of eight, only two teams remain. Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai have been able to really gel as a unit, while Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai have somehow managed to put their extreme personalities together. Tonight, one team will get to raise the up – and all four ladies will be ready to give their all in the ring.
Shirai & Choo would start this match, with Choo showing she can match the speed of Shirai. A lazy leg lock was applied, but Shirai stomped her way free. KLR got the tag in, before Choo got a roll up. Kai got the tag before a series of kicks to the face.
Shirai got the tag and looked for a 619 on Kai, but Choo helped to block with a body pillow before being kicked aside. KLR & Shirai would hit dives out to the floor, before keeping the pressure on with a DDT – before Choo would lay KLR out with a lariat. Belly to Belly Suplex would follow, before a rolling elbow and naptime elbow drop.
Kai & Choo would look for a super belly to belly suplex, only to get a two cout. Shirai would hit a 619 on Kai before a spear off the middle rope from KLR. Kairopractor would land, before a double stomp and top rope splash for a near fall.
Shirai would hit a backbreaker on Kai, before KLR would lay out Choo. One moonsault later – and this one was over! KLR & Io Shirai have won the Dusty Cup! Instead of going for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, they both agree they want a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship – and want that match to be a Fatal Four Way!
