It’s been revealed that Britney Spears was cited for “unsafe speeds for conditions” by the California Highway Patrol last month. In a report from Today, CHP pulled Spears over on Thursday, March 10. However, the report doesn’t detail how fast she was going or what the road conditions were that day.
Britney Spears Was Pulled Over for Unsafe Speeds While Celebrating Being Able to Drive Alone
So, what was the rush? Why was the “Me Against the Music” singer speeding in such conditions? In something else tied to her conservatorship, Spears was celebrate being able to drive alone.
During her continued public peeks into her conservatorship, Britney Spears touched on not being able to drive on her own for 13 years in a deleted Instagram post. She said that having to be escorted or needing a sitter while driving made her feel “like a hopeless old woman.”
Driving is that first big mark of adult freedom and responsibility for many. As for Spears, the terms of her conservatorship made it so she couldn’t go alone or with people who weren’t vetted. Basically, she largely missed out on that freedom when she was younger.
Now it appears that Spears is pretty much trying to enjoy all the things she hasn’t been able to such as driving or being on her Ricki Lake wave and being naked wherever she wants. You know, things that are part of everyday life for most.
It got to the point where she boiled it down to her just wanting “to own my money for this and my boyfriend to drive me in his f***ing car.”
Expect Britney Spears in court for the citation on Tuesday, May 3. However, you don’t have to wait until May 3 to share your thoughts on Britney’s speeding citation. As always, let us know down below.
