Sam Asghari certainly didn’t hold back when he was asked about starting a family with his fiancé, Britney Spears. In an interview that took place prior to Britney’s pregnancy post on Instagram, Sam expressed his frustrations about not being able to procreate a lot sooner.
‘Yeah, I mean, this should have happened three years ago, to be honest with you. When you’re in a relationship with someone that you’re truly in love with, you want to recreate. And this is something that I want to do,’ said the model and fitness trainer. It is unclear whether or not Asghari was aware of Britney’s pregnancy at the time of the interview, but both of them have been unwavering about their desire to have a child together.

‘I want to take my career to the next step when it comes to acting. I want to take my relationship to the next step, as well. I don’t mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad,’ Asghari told Forbes Magazine in March 2021.
Britney had been under a strict conservatorship since 2008 which allowed her father, Jamie Spears, to rule over the singer with an iron fist. According to Britney, her conservators severely stunted her ability to make decisions regarding her everyday life, career, and plans for the future. Britney also alleges that she was forced to take birth control during the conservatorship to prevent her and Sam from having a baby.
Spears first sparked baby rumors on April 11, when she took to social media sounding like she was expecting. ‘So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby,’ she stated before rambling on in a lengthy post. Many fans were left confused until Asghari himself went on to confirm the baby news himself.
‘Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect,” he captioned an image of a lion, lioness and their cub. “Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don’t take it lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do,’ he noted.
Britney and her beau first met in 2016 when Asghari landed a role in her “Slumber Party” music video. He played the role of her love interest and went on to date her for five years before popping the question in September 2021. Asghari presented Spears with a sparkling 4-carat solitaire diamond engagement ring with the word ‘Lioness’ inscribed inside the band.
