Britney dropped the bombshell, which was then later confirmed by her fiancé Sam Ashgari. Although Jamie took her time out to respond, the very fact of the matter is that she did the minimum that could be expected, given that they are on bad terms.
The two sisters had lashed out at each other over disagreements with Jamie’s memoir ‘Things I Should Have Said.’ So much so that Britney was willing to sue her sister, if there were any unsubstantiated claims made against her.
And yet, for a brief moment at least, Jamie was able to put that behind her. She responded to Britney’s following post: “So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby,” by liking it.
Despite the fact that it was a simple like, it is important for the following reasons. First of all, Jamie is the only member of the Spears’ direct family to have responded.
Both Britney’s parents have yet to comment on this, which is hardly a surprise. And yet, if they were interested in repairing any form of a relationship, it was potentially something that they could have done.
Secondly, it demonstrates that Jamie does care for her sister even if it does not appear to be the case. Nevertheless, not everybody was convinced by Jamie’s intentions. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
A significant number of people thought her actions were in poor taste, given that it was seen as an attempt to appear genuine. Meanwhile, others were of the view that if she wanted to like the post, then she should have followed it up with a comment too.
One person wrote: “So dysfunctional.” Only Jamie knows if her actions were truly sincere, and without an explanation to the contrary, it is wise that we give her the benefit of the doubt.
