Fans of WWE in the UK have been yearning for a major stadium event in the region. While NXT UK has brought some fun Takeover events, and live events are common? The last time WWE ran a stadium was for the 1992 Summerslam. However, they’ve announced they will be running Principality Stadium on Saturday, September 3rd. Many big matches are likely to find their way on this show – and Drew McIntyre knows who he wants to face.
The Scottish Warrior vs. The Gypsy King Would Be A Major Deal For WWE
Ahead of this massive return to the UK for WWE, Drew McIntyre has already figured out who he wants to face on this stadium show in Cardiff. It’s not the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, but rather the boxing star Tysn Fury. While speaking with Sky Sports, McIntyre would have the following to say.
“I’m a big fan of his. He’s highly entertaining, he’s such an attraction. That’s why I’m always saying to him, ‘Hey, the door’s always open in WWE. The ball is in your court. All I’ll say to Tyson is, Don’t screw it up! Don’t screw it up. Get through this fight, win it, and then give us a call. We’ll figure out if it can happen in Cardiff.”
Drew McIntyre Is Still One Of The Top Names In WWE
Since making his return to the company years back, Drew McIntyre was able to become a top star in the company. He’s won the Royal Rumble, defeated Brock Lesnar, and has had two reigns as WWE Champion. Lately he’s been feuding with Madcap Moss & Happy Corbin, but WWE are sure to keep him looking strong – as he’s positioned as one of the top faces in the company.
Being from Scotland, WWE will be sure to bring him in for a big match in September, and a match with Tyson Fury could really help to make this card feel huge. WWE will have no issues selling out this event – but big matches will still be needed.
