Since it’s inception, AEW has had one division that has lagged behind. Their men’s single and tag team divisions are among the best in the world – but their women’s division has had a lot of growing pains. Things in 2022 are finally starting to smooth out, with the likes of Thunder Rosa, Jade Cargill, Toni Storm, and Britt Baker all constantly improving. However, Dustin Rhodes wants to have a hand in taking things to the next level.
Dustin Rhodes Wants To Help Build The AEW Women’s Division
While speaking with Thunder Rosa on her Taco Vlog, Dustin Rhodes would have a chance to speak about the AEW Women’s division.
“You girls, there are a lot of people that do reach out to me here and want help and knowledge, but from day one, it started with Britt and Bea Priestley, they had a hell of a match. We started hiring more girls, I was diving in with them, and I started having training sessions just because I wanted to. I wanted the women’s division to get somewhere other than where it was at.
WWE has done a good job at that, but I want to see AEW do that. It’s not because I don’t like the guys. I truly see the desire in you ladies and how you want to make it to that next step. That means a lot to me because I like the challenge to get you guys there, in any way possible. I want to lead you there because I care. A lot of people may think that’s weird, but I truly do. I found a calling and I love to train with you girls, talk to you, mentor you, listen to your problems, hug you if you’re crying. It means a lot to me,”
The Next Stage Of His Career Is Helping To Build The Future
It’s becoming very clear that Dustin Rhodes in-ring career is nearing it’s end. He’s been able to wrestle in five different decades, and while his recent matches with CM Punk, Lance Archer, and Sammy Guevara were great – it will have to come to an end eventually.
One Last Run has been his motto since 2019, and unless this is the wrestling equivalent to Bob Dylan’s ‘never ending tour’, it will end eventually. It’s always better to go out on your own terms, and Rhodes already has another gold in mind – which will help him build another lasting legacy.
