Several members from the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ franchise have reacted to the news that the show will be moving to Disney +.
DWTS: Stars React To The Show Moving To Disney
The popular hit TV show had been synonymous with ABC, but now that has changed in an attempt to deal with the show’s broadening appeal.
And this has been seen with several entertainment stars crossing over to perform on the show after having a Disney connection. And one of those included none other than JoJo Siwa.
After all, she did perform the role of Cinderella’s Prince Charming on the network’s Disney Week. Kareem Daniel, who happens to be the Chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, backed the move as it would create a bigger audience.
He said: “The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home for Dancing with the Stars.”
With so much expectation being put on the show, this move could be crucial for the following reasons. First of all, it may be possible to see more people from the Disney franchise crossing over to the show.
Secondly, there is the obvious feeling that the show could have more Disney-themed dance routines, with even perhaps the judges being connected to the Disney franchise. Naturally, the professional dancers had a lot to say on the matter.
And by the looks of it, they are delighted by the news. Carrie Ann Inaba, a judge on the show, responded with the following comments: “We’re gonna be the first live streaming competition show in the United States.
“And we’re gonna be on Disney+ and that’s really exciting. Dancing With the Stars has always been a little bit of a trailblazer.”
Much in the same way, Gleb Savchenko was delighted by the news. After all, it keeps the future of the show alive for the next two seasons at least.
In response, he stated: “When I heard the news, I was really excited. It was great to hear that the show has already been renewed for two seasons! I can’t wait for the next season to start.”
