JoJo Siwa Expresses Her Frustrations At Not Being Invited To The 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards- Fans Wonder If It Was Due To Her Coming Out
The star was understandably frustrated in light of everything that has happened to her recently. She has taken huge steps in opening up to her fans when she made the decision to come out.
Not only that, but given that her fan base highlighted that her song ‘One Chance’ was being played at the awards, it was naturally seen as a kick in the teeth.
And JoJo let her frustration be known when she responded to the speculation surrounding the reasoning behind her absence.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, she shared a video in which she stated the following: “A lot of you have been asking me why I’m not at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards tonight and the answer is very simple.
“I wasn’t invited. I’m not sure why, but I just didn’t get an invite. So my song made it, but I didn’t.” This begs the question why wasn’t the star invited?
Well, outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, fans put this down to the following reasons. First of all, some people were of the view that her coming out journey had coincided with her absence and therefore could be connected.
One fan wrote: “The only year that @itsjojowsiwa didn’t get invited to the kids choice awards is when she comes out and cuts her hair??????” Secondly, there is always the possibility that JoJo was simply not viewed as relevant anymore.
Although this may be hard to stomach, given that JoJo has become more mainstream in recent years, as shown by her appearance on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as well as appearing on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ that has not led to an invite.
