Comedian Rebecca Corry has decided to incorporate Louis C.K. into her routine after having come forward previously, as part of 5 women who accused him of sexual misconduct.
Comedian Rebecca Corry Will Use Louis C.K. In Her Material Despite Having Accused Him Of Sexual Misconduct-‘It’s My Story’
According to reports, the five women came forward to stress that Louis had made them watch him masturbate in front of them. And this all came to a head when Louis came out to apologise by admitting that he had done such behaviour.
But rather than letting that be put into the past, Rebecca has decided to take a novel approach to it by incorporating it into her material. In an interview with Variety, she said: “I’m absolutely going to be talking about this.
“It’s part of my story and it’s my story to tell. It takes time to process. And so much about it was so unbelievably painful and disappointing and sad and hurtful, and many times I feared for my safety.”
These comments could not have come at a more pertinent time. After those initial allegations, Louis did suffer the brunt of cancel culture as he was no longer a mainstream comedian.
Although that may have been the case, the very fact of the matter is that things quickly changed this year. He had controversially been awarded a Grammy award for Best Comedy Album, something which left the fans as well as accuser Julia Wolov in displeasure.
And in line with that, Rebecca admitted that she had suffered harsher consequences than Louis. She added: “I was canceled in 2005, the day it [the encounter with C.K.] happened.
“This bulls–t about the predators being the ones who get canceled is a cute idea but not true. They don’t get canceled, they just get an adult ‘time out.”
It is ultimately up to Rebecca if she wants to speak out about her experience, but in the process of doing so, she may uncover previously repressed emotions much to her detriment. So there you have it folks. What did you think about all of this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
