The Greatest 10 WWE Attitude Era Theme Songs: Part 1

We’re getting into the ten best themes of the WWE Attitude Era and we’re starting with the bottom ten! Did your favorite make the list or is it in the top five?

    10. Survivor Series 1998 – Deadly Game

There are two WWE event themes that really stand out. One is the iconic WrestleMania theme heard throughout the 90s. The other theme which rocks harder but doesn’t have that iconic status is “Deadly Game” from Survivor Series 1998. Honestly, it should’ve been used as a theme for a Las Vegas pay-per-view but the “Deadly Game Tournament” was going down. As a result, we got a one-off PPV theme for a one-off tournament.

    9. Dan Severn – Fighter

This theme absolutely rocked. It just rides and totally fits the persona of Dan “The Beast” Severn in WWE. He came out purely to beat ass and didn’t even have a memorable program, speak on the mic, or anything like that.

“Fighter” is a purely Attitude Era theme song.

    8. Goldust – Shattered Dreams

“Shattered Dreams” is more of a New Generation theme but we heard it throughout the Attitude Era even after Goldust’s momentum petered out. I really dig “Shattered Dreams”. There’s an epicness to it that smacks of main eventer or hot future talent. Of the themes in the bottom ten of the list, this one is the most timeless of them all.

    7. X-Pac – Make Some Noise

    “X-PAAAAAC! X-Pac.”

I really just want to leave that and continue to the top song of the bottom ten but let’s get into it a little bit. “Make Some Noise” was probably the best of the D-Generation X themes and it was a singles theme—and it rocked. It was very much a rap-rock theme which makes it distinctly Attitude Era.

    6. The Nation – The Nation

This theme was used by The Nation after The Rock took over as the leader and the name was shortened from Nation of Domination. It smacked of this being the coolest of the cool in WWE but they only had one cool member at the time: The Rock. D’Lo Brown wouldn’t be cool until his solo run and the Godfather became cool once he became an equal opportunity employer for women of the night.

Owen was always Owen but there was a certain coolness to him once he turned heel. Mark Henry is a story for another post. This theme deserves its spot because it became the foundation of The Rock’s theme song.
