While dealing with the fallout of the November 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy, Travis Scott is getting back into performing live.
Travis Scott Scheduled to Perform During the Miami Grand Prix
The upcoming Miami Grand Prix will be held Sunday, May 8 at the Miami International Autodrome. Travis Scott will perform at the popular club, E11even on Saturday, May 7 following the qualifier. As expected of such a major race, hotel prices have spiked and club E11even tables run between $5,000 and $100,000.
Following the tragic event which claimed ten lives, Travis Scott was cut from the Coachella festival. That didn’t hinder him from performing live as he has stuck to mostly smaller shows at private superstar gatherings. The “SICKO MODE” artist performed at a Coachella after-party and a house party before the 2022 Oscars. In addition, he was recently featured on the single “Hold That Heat” by Future and Southside.
Beyond that, the “CAN’T SAY” rapper has been low-key. He’s made a few appearances while steering clear of media engagement. In response to the tragedy, he claims that he wasn’t aware that concertgoers were hurt during his set and established Project HEAL. Working in tandem with Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation, the goal of the initial involves:
“Project HEAL unites initiatives ranging from academic scholarships, free mental health resources, a creative design center and a first-ever, tech-driven solution for event safety. These efforts, independently and collectively, aim to solve challenges and overcome issues impacting the youth community.”
Scott’s fourth studio album Utopia and the rumored companion prelude mixtape Dystopia are pending release as a result of the festival tragedy.
