It appears that the WWE is interested in Game Changer Wrestling’s Bloodsport brand of shows, according to owner Brett Lauderdale.
WWE Interested in GCW Bloodsport?
On his podcast, Lauderdale discussed going to WrestleMania and meeting Stephanie McMahon in the luxury box. With him were others from the New Jersey-based promotion. It was then that he mentioned that McMahon was interested in the company’s Bloodsport brand.
For those unfamiliar with the Bloodsport shows they’re worked-shoot in nature with a style that mixes pro wrestling and MMA. The ring ropes are removed for the matches and bouts end in submission or via knockout.
First held in 2018, the shows have featured MMA participants in the past. These included legends Frank Mir and Dan Severn, Filthy Tom Lawlor, regular host and competitor Josh Barnett, and the wrestler who kicked it off: current RAW Tag Team Champion, Matt Riddle.
Matches are always on the stiff side and it’s unusual for there to be bloodshed. That’s what makes this loose piece of news interesting. WWE has since moved away from blood on programming.

If there is blood there’s a high chance that it was accidental and the company will do its best to get off of it. After all, WWE has family-oriented sponsors to answer to and no blood keeps things very safe on WWE’s end.
That isn’t to say that Bloodsport in WWE would need blood but “blood” is in the name and WWE tends to deliver what’s on the marquee. Imagine a Hell in a Cell event with no Hell in a Cell or no tables or ladders at TLC!
If anything, this could be a piece in Matt Riddle push puzzle. What do you think? Could we see a GCW Bloodsport-like event in WWE? Or did they try it with RAW Underground and the company should steer clear of it?
