Cameron Grimes has finally become a champion in WWE NXT – and now he needs to prove it was no fluke. Solo Sikoa has stepped up as his first challenger, and these two intend to leave it all in the ring tonight. It’s a battle of skill and respect, and could be the breakout victory that Sikoa has been looking for.

Cameron Grimes Defeats Solo Sikoa – Attacked By Carmelo Hayes

Sikoa would quickly look for the Samoan Drop, but Grimes was able to slip free. Grimes looked for a German Suplex, but Sikoa held his ground. A back elbow was thrown, but Grimes ducked and grabbed an armbar on the mat. Sikoa would be able to get free, but after rushing into the corner – was taken back down with an arm drag.

Grimes would continue to isolate that left arm of Sikoa, before being tossed to the ropes. Sikoa hit the shoulder block, before hitting a senton to the lower back. Grimes would say that while he respects Sikoa, his bloodline can kiss his grits.

Sikoa would be fired up by this quick trash talk, and would slam the head of Grimes off the corner post before a lariat to the outside. Grimes was able to get to the apron and nailed a PK to the chest of Sikoa, but couldn’t press the advantage in the ring.

Sikoa would nail a running senton, but only got a two count. Grimes was able to hit a German Suplex, before taking a running hip attack in the corner. Sikoa would follow up with a heavy thrust kick – before taking the spanish fly. Cave-In was blocked into the Samoa Drop, getting a near fall.

The flying splash was stopped in it’s tracks by Grimes – before Trick Williams came to ringside. Sikoa would take out Williams before waltzing into the Cave-In. Following the match, former champion Carmelo Hayes would attack Cameron Grimes – and would make it clear he intends to reclaim his gold.

Grayson Waller & Sanga Reveal Their Gauntlet Match Strategy

Following this match, we’d hear from Grayson Waller & Sanga – who claimed they should have just been handed the NXT Tag Team Championships. Instead, they will defeat four other tag teams tonight.

Waller would reveal the strategy – he’s going to let Sanga earn his keep, while he stays on the apron and looks handsome like only he can. Sanga & Waller are set to face Pretty Deadly, The Creed Brothers, Legado Del Fantasma, and Briggs & Jensen in a gauntlet match. The NXT Tag Team Championships are vacant following the release of Nash Carter.

Who will claim tag team gold in tonights main event? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
