The Usos are in the midst of the longest reign as Smackdown Tag Team Champions, but tonight they face the dynamic duo of Rik Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura. Jimmy & Jey Uso might be two of the greatest tag team specialists in WWE history, but Nakamura is a main event level talent, Rik Boogs is pure potential. Do Nakamura & Boogs have the chemistry to get the win tonight?
The Usos Start The Weekend Right For The Bloodline
After a performance from the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, Rik Boogs would shred on his way to the ring alongside Shinsuke Nakamura. Meanwhile, Pat McAfee gyrated on the announce desk to the horror of Michael Cole, who was undoubtedly questioning the choices that brought him to this point in his life.
Nakamura would rush down Jimmy with a kick as the match began, before taking him into the ring for some good vibrations. Jimmy was laid across the corner for a knee strike, getting a one count. The Usos were able to hit a combo backbreaker. They’d cut the ring in half, keeping Nakamura well away from a tag.
A swift kick would cut Jey down, and Boogs would be able to make his way into the ring. Boogs would hit the delayed vertical suplex, before trying to get both men with a Samoan Drop. The knee of Boogs would give out, but he’d be able to make the tag to Nakamura.
Nakamura would set Jey up on the ropes, before nailing the Sliding German Suplex. Jey would hit the superkick and allow Jimmy to go for the diving splash, 1D would follow, and Nakamura was down for the count.
Still Smackdown tag team champions – The Usos!
Drew McIntyre Rushes Down Happy Corbin
Drew McIntyre is looking to climb the mountain and get back to the main event. However tonight at WrestleMania 38, he needs to push past Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss. This duo nearly put McIntyre into retirement earlier this year at WWE Day One, only for him to return at Royal Rumble.
Moss was taken out at Elimination Chamber, and now McIntyre goes one on one with Corbin. After Corbin took a shot at the late mother of McIntyre, this one became deeply personal – and the last thing you want with McIntyre is for him to enter a match while angry.
Corbin would get some heavy strikes in to start this match, before being sent out of the ring with a lariat. McIntyre would follow, before being shoved into the corner post. Back into the ring, Corbin would toss McIntyre down for a near fall.
A backdrop would get a one count, and Madcap Moss got on the apron to cheer. McIntyre would catch Corbin arguing with Moss, and slam him down with a spinebuster. A belly to belly suplex would follow, before a neckbreaker.
Corbin would nail the Deep Six as McIntyre looked for Claymore, but only managed a two count. Chokebreaker would be set, but McIntyre slipped out. Claymore was signalled, but Corbin fled the ring – forcing McIntyre to soar over the top rope and take Corbin down.
Back in the ring, Claymore would miss and End of Days landed for a near fall – the first time anyone has EVER kicked out of this finisher. McIntyre would nail Future Shock & Claymore, and this one was over! Moss got on the apron and McIntyre swung his sword, splitting two ropes.
