However, fans didn’t receive the fundraiser well. “So, it’s been a minute- any updates on the house flooding drama?” a Redditor asked. “I don’t do Facebook or Instagram. Anyone know what’s happened since the alleged flood and fund raising/grifting situation?” someone also wrote.
Another person said, “I went back to Meghan’s IG. Somebody asked for an update with her situation.” “She said that she hadn’t posted because she had been too [busy] putting things back right to post. She also said that she’s been staying in a hotel.. It never even occurred to her to thank anyone or she would have in her response.”
Someone added. It is unclear why some viewers think the duo are trying to scam people, but Meghan seemingly confirmed that flood really damaged their home. Maybe if another season of 1000-Lb. Best Friends airs, viewers will get more answers then.
In another thread on Reddit, some viewers think the besties will incorporate the flood incident into Season 2’s storyline. The original poster said that the friends will use the incident as an excuse to justify why they stopped keeping up with their health goals.
