The combat sports public is in shock. Musa Yamak, the German boxer of Turkish origins passes away. The unpleasant and shocking event took place in the boxing ring mid-fight in Munich past Saturday, May 14th.
Musa Yamak has a professional record of 8-0-0 and is a winning favorite in this fight. What was considered a sure win for Musa turned out to be the most tragic fight in the history of boxing.

The first two rounds pass seemingly good for both fighters. They trade shots and go back and forth in the ring, however at the end of round two something that causes the unpleasant event happens. Wandera lands a great body shot on Musa and the bell saves him from a further beating. As soon as he faces his opponent in round three and the bell chimes, Musa feels a pain in the chest and tumbles to the ground.
Hamza starts walking toward him, but he backs up in his corner as soon as he notices that something is not right. When the medical team sees that he is unconscious, they rush to the ring to provide medical assistance. However, this is not of much help. The boxer is already dead.
Hasan Turan, a Turkish official and a member of the national assembly of Turkey is the first to share the tragic news. And with this, he confirms the trustworthiness of the story.
“We lost our compatriot Musa Askan Yamak, a boxer from Alucra, who won European and Asian championships, at a young age after a heart attack. I wish God’s mercy on the deceased, whom we met at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey when he came to Ankara for the competition, and my condolences to his sad family and fans.” – Hasan says on Twitter.
As soon as the story goes viral, many people are sending condolences, and sympathy to his family and team. It appears that he reached his moment of fame, but not in the way anyone would want. Saying that, let’s give him some tribute and acknowledge his achievements.
Musa Yamak is born in 1986 to a Turkish native family but is living in Germany for a long time. As a consequence, he is fighting with the colors of the German flag on his belt. He is a 155 pounder and as such has an astonishing record of 8-0-0. His contest history is very broad. He has taken place in more than 70 contests and has no losses on his record.
Musa is a holder of the WBF and GBU titles and is the Euro-Asia’s light-heavyweight boxing champion. In 2019 he became the European champion by beating Christian Dulz in Istanbul, Turkey.
