At Double or Nothing this weekend, Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus are set to once again defend against two top tag teams at once. Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs are ready for a shot, and so are Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland. Tonight, Jungle Boy faces both Ricky Starks & Swerve Strickland in a preview match – and the winner could find themselves with a mental edge ahead of the PPV.
Never Take Your Eyes Off Swerve Strickland
Starks would leave the ring as the bell rang, before waiting for a chance to get a roll up. Swerve kicked out, before Jungle Boy was dropped with a kick. He’d be taken onto the shoulders of Swerve, and tossed over to Starks for a hurricanrana. All three men would brawl on the floor, with the FTW Champion Ricky Starks coming out on top.
Back in the ring, Starks hit a delayed vertical suplex on Jungle Boy, before walking the rope before hitting Old School. Swerve was kept to the outside with a jumping forearm smash, before he’d catch Starks on the apron. They traded forearm blows, before Swerve hit a pump kick to the face.
Jungle Boy came over the top rope with a hurricanrana to Swerve, before a blindside elbow to the head in the ring – with Starks breaking the pinfall up. Swerve set up a superplex, and even when Jungle Boy blocked into a hurricanrana – Swerve landed on his feet.
Starks would nail a high angle Michinoku Driver on Jungle Boy , but Swerve would save the match. Swerve took a thumb to the eye and Roshambo, before Starks was locked in the Snare Trap. Starks was saved by the House Call kick, before taking the Swerve Stomp for the finish.
Thunder Rosa Keeps It Short & Sweet
This weekend at Double or Nothing, Thunder Rosa will defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Serena Deeb. Tonight, ahead of perhaps her biggest match in AEW history, Rosa has one last chance to connect with fans, as she gets some promo time tonight. Tony Schiavone would call her to the ramp.
Rosa would call Deeb petty, and called her out for blaming her past for how long it took for her to reach the top. One day, she looked up to Deeb – but no more. On Sunday, Rosa will teach Deeb a lesson in respect, and show why she’s the AEW Women’s World Champion.
