Spots in the Owen Hart Memorial Cup are filling up fast, and there will be one less after tonight. Darby Allin & Swerve Strickland are no strangers to one another, and Allin knows the deal with Strickland. He’s been trying to make any promotion he steps into “Swerves House” but needs to understand that AEW has been Allin’s house for years now. These two will prove who is better here tonight – in what should be a very intense singles match.

Swerve Strickland & Darby Allin Give Each Other Their Best

A quick fist bump would show respect as this match began, before they’d lock up in the ring. Both men would battle for control of a wrist lock, before Swerve looked for a kick in the corner – but Allin was too quick. Allin would be able to take Swerve down into a wrist lock, and remained in control even as Swerve would get to his feet.

A huge springboard armdrag would follow from Allin, with Swerve landing on his feet. Swerve would hit an armdrag of his own, before Allin would counter right into a rear chinlock. Allin would grab a hammerlock but was tossed from the ring, before Swerve tried to hit a fakeout dive.

Allin was not rattled, and would go right into a modified stunner. Swerve was left woozy, before Allin went for a low tope suicida – but only found the knee of Swerve in his face. A massive pump kick would follow, with Allin falling hard in response.

Back in the ring, Swerve would hit the diving european uppercut to the back of a sitting Allin. A shoulder lock would be applied, but Allin would break free and grab the kneebar. Swerve was able to break free and hit a brainbuster, but Allin kicked out at two.

The Swerve Stomp was dodged and Allin quickly took advantage with a Code Red. Coffin Drop was launched, but Swerve was able to get his knees up. He’d call for who’s house it was, before nailing the House Call kick.

Allin had the ring awareness to catch the bottom rope, before a suplex right down to the floor. Ricky Starks tried to get involved in the match, but Sting would prevent this. Back in the ring, Swerve would wander into a Last Supper – with Allin getting the three count.

Still On Sight For Santana & Ortiz

Following this match, Santana & Ortiz would attack Chris Jericho – who was on commentary for AEW Rampage. This was revenge for the attack on Eddie Kingston on Dynamite, which saw Jericho throw a flash paper fireball at the face of Kingston in the parking lot.

A proper beating could not be delivered tonight, as security came to the aid of Jericho – but this should teach him to not lower his defences. With the status of Kingston unclear, Santana & Ortiz are outnumbered 5 to 2 – and might need to call in some old friends to back them up.

Do you think Eddie Kingston has revenge in mind? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
