Cardi B has opened up on how she was just joking about encouraging people at the Met Gala to take cocaine.
Cardi B Backtracks Her Comments After Telling The Attendees At The Met Gala Afterparty To Snort Cocaine-‘It Gets Twisted’
The event had already suffered some controversy with regards to the actual dresses that were on show. Model Cara Develingne had turned heads when she decided to remove the top that she was wearing to show off her breasts.
In the process of doing so, the model showed that she was covered in what appeared to be gold paint. Much in the same way, Cardi’s celebrations at the afterparty were also called into question.
It is claimed that she had stood on top of the bar and stated the following: “Take a shot right now, everybody take a line. Make sure you got your drinks, make sure y’all do your little [lines].
“Whatever the f–k you have to do. We got to turn the f–k up. I want everybody dancing!” Her comments instantly went viral, which was part of people’s perception of the problem with drugs and alcohol in the wider Hollywood industry.
But rather than actually encouraging people to do drugs, Cardi clarified her comments by stating that they had been taken out of context in what was meant to be a joke.
That is why she wanted to set the record straight and clear up any misconceptions that people may have had. In response to the comments, she remarked: “[It was] a joke.
“I make one joke as a hostess because I am hosting a party and it gets twisted. Why can’t every celebrity joke around and say slick s–t?”
The response on social media, however, was anything but a joke. One fan had posted the video clip of Cardi encouraging people to do cocaine, which then showed Billie Eilish looking on and then saying: “So weird.”
It is safe to say that Cardi should consider the words that she uses very carefully going forward. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
