You cannot be sure with Elon. He is as unpredictable as the weather. Once, several years ago he opens up about his democratic orientation. He openly reveals that he votes for President Barack Obama. After that, it appears that all his moves and deeds connect him with the Republicans. Finally, he starts blasting the democratic wing at a great pace. Moreover, he opens up about his plan for the upcoming elections.
Over the last period of around ten years he is playing a very political game when it comes to financing and supporting political parties. His largest companies, including Tesla, SpaceX and the Boring company have a record of helping, or donating to both sides. To the democrats and to the republicans as well. The extent of these donations is as much as $1-2 million per year. The highest lobbying price is reached in 2021 and it stays at $2 million.
Elon Musk Will Vote For The Republicans In The Following Elections
The political choice that he makes is not a surprise to the people who follow his shots at the government over the last period. Everybody who follows Musk on Twitter, or any other social media for that matter is aware of his Republican inclination in his views. Throughout the years Elon is criticizing both sides, however, his criticism lately is focusing to the democratic wing only.
He has some views on the world and they will not be changing for anything. At the end of the last year, the billionaire went to that extreme to support severe abortion restrictions. And as an addition, he supports the banning of LGBTQ memoirs from schools and libraries as well.
The people see this as a completely republican move. However, Musk doesn’t fall into the trap so easily. He says that these decisions are fueled by his human nature and objective thinking. He says that he is doing the right thing and is doing this for a common good.
Past Wednesday, 18th of May, Elon tweets his plans for voting in the following elections.
“In the past, I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold…”
He has been open like this previously as well. While featuring at the “All-In with Chamath, Jason, Sacks & Friedberg” podcast, he reveals – “I would classify myself as a moderate, neither Republican nor Democrat. In fact, I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats historically. Overwhelmingly. I might never have voted Republican. Now, this election? I will.” – the billionaire says. “The Democratic party is overly controlled by the unions and the trial lawyers, particularly the class-action lawyers.” – he continues.
He is currently in business for buying the social media Twitter for $44 billion. This entering the ‘social media business’ of his is labeled as a clearly anti-democratic move. Elon says on several occasions that Twitter has a very strong democratic bias. That censorship is not equal for everyone on the platform.
He continues telling that his moving into this business does not have anything to do with his political views. However, he might be doing it to equalize the censorship and level the expression possibilities for both parties.
Now with his back and forward politics for the Twitter deal the Republicans are unsure of his next move. Due to their interest in his taking over the company a fundraiser is started. Several people, like Jason Calacanis, a known Republican, want to help the billionaire finish the deal and buy Twitter.
On Twitter, which Elon uses as his megaphone for reaching the broader public, he continues mocking and downgrading Democratic personalities such as Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and many more.
Lately, he accused President Biden as one who will read everything that is given to him. As a person who is not thinking throughout his actions and words. He compared him to “The Anchorman”, a movie character that reads everything that comes up on the teleprompter. “It’s hard to tell what Biden is doing to be totally frank.
The real president is whoever controls the teleprompter (referring to who tells Biden what to read). The path to power is the path to the teleprompter. I do feel like if somebody were to accidentally lean on the teleprompter, it’s going to be like Anchorman,”
On the contrary to this, he is openly friendly to Republican personalities like Lauren Boebert, Steven Crowden, etc. Lauren Boebert recently welcomes this getting out of the closet of his, with an official Twitter post.
“Elon Musk says he will be voting Republican for the first time in his life the next time he votes. Elon is not alone. It’s nearly impossible to stand by and vote for today’s radical Democrat Party. Welcome, Elon!” – she tweets.
Steven Crowder acknowledges Elon’s controversy earlier by comparing him with former USA President Donald Trump. He says – “Elon Musk has become the new Trump for the Left.”
So we do see a pattern here that more or less defines the path that Elon is going through. He is obviously not a Democrat, and he most probably never was, despite his claims. However, he might have been neutral. Now, the situation is such that he openly is against the democrats, with the world classifying him as a strong Republican.
Nevertheless, one of the main reasons that he buys Twitter relates to the Rupublican party. That is the try to bring back Trump on the platform after his ban in January 2021.
A Republican or not, Elon is making his moves strategically and most certainly has some sort of a plan. Time has shown that the billionaire, even though seems unpredictable, has a clear vision of what he wants to accomplish. And he knows the way he is going to accomplish it.
