Almost immediately after Elon Musk steps into the headquarters of the company he starts firing people, forcing his laws and guidelines, and is not shy to show it. He also shares an internal message stating that he froze all hiring in the company for an unknown period of time. As he explains, this is due to his trying to change the business trajectory of the company.
‘The New York Times’ obtains the internal message and makes it public.
After Elon Musk’s Takeover Twitter Fires Two Of The Top Executives In The Company
Parag Agrawal, the current CEO of Twitter, says that the company is pausing most of the hiring and is most certainly pulling back and shortening the optional spending. The reason behind this is the company not being able to hit goals. Not being able to achieve growth in certain areas.
In the message, the CEO shares critical information about the leaving of two of the top lead figures in the company. Kayvon Beykpour who is Twitter’s general manager, and Bruce Falck, the general manager for income, are leaving the company. The CEO has already found a replacement for Baykpour. His position is filling Jay Sullivan, who’s Twitter’s interim general manager of consumer products until now.
Even though the company has decided to invest intensively in the growth of certain areas, the goals were not reached. The CEO blames this on the leading staff.
“It’s critical to have the right leaders at the right time”. – Parag says.
And he thinks that the leaders that Twitter had until now were not the right ones. He might be right, it is no secret that Elon wants to steer Twitter in a totally different direction. And in order to do so, firstly you need different people with different views.
After leaving, Beykpour shares a tweet expressing his dissatisfaction with his leaving the company.
He says – “The truth is that this isn’t how and when I imagined leaving Twitter, and this wasn’t my decision. Parag asked me to leave after letting me know that he wants to take the team in a different direction. While I’m disappointed, I take solace in a few things. I am INSANELY proud of what our collective team achieves over the last few years and my own contribution to this journey. Twitter’s DAU has grown by over 87% since Q2 2018 and our team has shipped bold and exciting new evolutions to the product at a much much faster pace than any time over the last decade.”
As he continues with numerous tweets regarding his leave, people are retweeting replying to and liking his tweets.
One tweet is sticking out of the others.
“The most Twitter thing to happen next is for Elon to back out of the deal. Leaving the company with declining morale, a cratering stock, and cleared out upper ranks” What are your thoughts, could this happen?
