P Diddy spoke out on cancel culture by letting his fans know that he aims to put an end to it in the music industry.
Fans DESTROY P Diddy After He Vowed To ‘Uncancel’ Disgraced Musicians Travis Scott And Morgan Wallen-‘Who The F**k Asked Him’
The music mogul’s comments arrived on the back end of his appearance at the Billboard Music Awards 2022. During the course of that process, fans got to see Morgan Wallen and Travis Scott attend.
The former had faced huge backlash after a video had emerged of him using the ‘N word’, even if he was allegedly intoxicated at the time.
Meanwhile, Travis has faced a series of lawsuits following the Astroworld tragedy in which a reported 10 people were killed, as well as many others injured.
Thus, Travis was deemed to not have done enough to ensure that medical assistance got to the people who required it as soon as possible.
But for P Diddy, he felt that a time had come where people had to move on from such incidents. In his comments, he said: “We’re un-canceling the canceled. [Brother] Love does not rock like that.”
Nevertheless, Diddy’s comments have to be questioned for the following reasons. First of all, he had not personally been affected by the incidents that both Morgan and Travis were involved in. Thus, it is easier for him to suggest that we must move on.
Secondly, by coming out with such an approach, Diddy’s comments may inadvertently demean the victims. And yet, he doubled down on his beliefs.
He added: “I got some power to do something about that because we can’t start that in the music industry or even in life period, so I’m here to forgive.”
The fans on social media were very hostile towards Diddy. People were of the view that the artists’ wrongful behaviour could not be brushed under the carpet.
One person wrote: “How do u uncancel someone responsible for the death of their fans lol,” while another person stated: “Who the f**k asked him.”
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
