Neil Patrick Harris has apologised after a picture resurfaced of a meat platter that was made in the image of Amy Winehouse’s corpse at a 2011 Halloween party he had hosted.

Amy, for her part, had tragically died as a result of her struggles with substance abuse, which led to alleged alcohol poisoning.
And given that she was one of the most talented musicians in the world, as indicated by her unique voice, the last thing that people wanted to see was her death being mocked in the aftermath.
But that is precisely what happened, as shown in the following picture. In the image here, we can see that a platter has been made which shows what appears to be Amy in a situation where her face is disfigured.
There is blood everywhere, as well as the fact that a cigarette has been left in the corpse’s mouth. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Look who showed up at @ActuallyNPH & @GourmetMD’s Halloween party last night.
“Looking good.” But with time, the actor recognised that this had not aged very well. Although it has been a decade since it was posted, the very fact of the matter is that cancel culture has made it so that any prior activity can be picked up on with potentially devastating consequences for a person’s career.
With that in mind, Neil came out immediately in order to apologise and hold his hands up for that mistake.
In an official statement to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “A photo recently resurfaced from a Halloween-themed party my husband [David Burtka] and I hosted 11 years ago.
“It was regrettable then, and it remains regrettable now.” Nevertheless, the fans on social media were not so forgiving. People were of the view that the only reason why the actor had apologised was because he had been caught out.
Thus, it was not very sincere. One person wrote: “Will he be “cancelled for such a deplorable and disrespectful act of misogyny? No. No, he won’t.”
