Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could end up being canceled by Hollywood if they continue to speak out negatively against the Royal family.
Hollywood Wants Harry And Meghan GONE-‘They Are Highly Unlikely To Find Other Buyers For Their Projects’
That is according to an unnamed studio executive. This news arrives on the back end of Meghan Markle seeing her cartoon series ‘Pearl’ being cancelled from Netflix.
While that was predicated on the basis that the subscription service was undergoing budget cuts, as a result of dwindling subscribers, it shows that the couple’s star-appeal still has a long way to go.
To make matters even more worrying, a recent poll had suggested that as much as 80% of people supported Queen Elizabeth’s decision to ban the couple from the palace balcony, when they attend her Platinum Jubilee.
And with so much negative scrutiny surrounding the couple, they will have to produce some stellar content in order to keep people interested.
In a statement, the executive is quoted as saying the following: “As we enter a recession…they are highly unlikely to find other buyers for their projects.
“They have to do something to grab a huge audience and prove to Netflix they were worth the investment – otherwise they are likely to find themselves being quickly frozen out.”
Much in the same way, Royal expert Tina Brown was equally worried for the couple. As of now, the only project that the couple have managed to get the go ahead on Netflix is for their documentary ‘Heart of Invictus.’
While that is a milestone in and of itself, going forward, a single show is not going to be enough to justify that Netflix deal. That is why Tina was of the view that the duo had failed to calculate just how difficult life would be post the Royal family.
She stated: “[They] completely underestimated [it]. The Palace has amazing power and all of that is gone.” Time will tell how Harry and Meghan manage to navigate this tricky period going forward.
