Even the ones that have never heard of Spotify switched to watching it parallel with YouTube when the podcaster Joe Rogan started broadcasting the episodes on the platform. The show most certainly gained a massive amount of users since Joe’s transfer.
The podcast is a mega-boom on Spotify. It continues to be a huge success for the platform, and it is still on the platform’s list of the top podcasts. However, after this weekend it is now in second place. Wonder who managed to bring down the most famous podcast?
Joe Rogan Experience Is Not The Top Spotify Podcast Anymore
The new DC’s Batman Unburied podcast is now the most trending and the most listened podcast on Spotify. Looks like an extreme switch. From a reality podcast that covers topics from everyday world problems to a fictive-themed podcast evaluating Batman as a character. The main topic of the podcast is Bruce Waine’s life story. It features Winston Duke as Batman, or Bruce Wayne, Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler, Sam Witwer as The Harvester, and Gina Rodriguez as Barbara Gordon, Gotham PD detective.
The story of the new podcast is regarding life in Gotham. Gotham is a fictive city – made to represent New York in some parallel universe. Bruce Wayne works as a doctor in the city hospital and he examines victims that were a target of The Harvester.
The Harvester is a serial killer very similar to the role of Hanibal Lecter in the ‘Silence of the lambs’. Finally, the goal of Batman is to save the world from the serial killer.
So, nothing new. The same old Batman story that the people love. Batman Unburied captured the first place in the U.S.A, in Australia, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Mexico, India, and many other smaller countries all over the world.
Even though the ‘fresh’ podcast has only two episodes until now, it manages to ‘beat’ Joe Rogan. Imagine what happens when they record more episodes. The popularity of the show is booming.
Joe Rogan is popular for his unorthodox opinions and controversial claims. In each episode, he manages to come out with some thought like this which makes the headlines. And to be honest, he has win-win tactics. His opinions are regarding ongoing top stories that circle the internet already.
So it is like the world is hungrily waiting for his next comment. For example, in his latest podcast episode, he made a statement regarding Elon Musk’s investments. He says that the billionaire should next buy TikTok.
His podcast did happen to reach its top popularity during the pandemic. The world was more curious about Joe’s comments on the virus than about the ones from WHO.
We expect that the reign of the new podcast will be short. After several episodes, the interest will significantly drop. However, for the Joe Rogan Experience, it is certain that it will return to the top after an episode, or two.
