The commentary turned comedian, turned podcaster Joe Rogan never ceases to amaze the public. It seems like there is no end to his controversies.
In almost every episode of the podcast, he rants about censorship, news, fake news, how the world should accept information from the internet, etc.
Joe Rogan Mocked For Getting Excited Over Fake Story Regarding Growing Food
While he is widely accused of sharing false information about many things, including information regarding the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, in a recent episode of the podcast he becomes a victim of false information himself.
Allegedly, the news he reads somewhere on the internet is informing about a law in Australia that prohibits the people from ‘growing’ their own food. He is convincing his guest that this is true and searches for the story on the internet.
“I want to know what their justification was, but I’m pretty sure it had to do with agricultural contamination.” – he says in the podcast episode – “You could justify it if you’re a real piece of shit.”
He continues his insults to the government and called the Australian politicians ‘fucking creeps’ who have a ‘good grip on people during the pandemic.’
While his co-host searches for the story on the internet he continues ranting about it and takes a completely opposing position to the people who ‘brought this law’.
“We gonna stop these motherfuckers from growing their own food.” He says. “Because that’s how you smoke out an anti-vaxxer, because you can’t go to a grocery store anymore, and you can’t grow your own food.”
As soon as he finishes the sentence his co-host Jamie Vernon comes out with the shocking news to Joe. He realizes that there is no such thing as a prohibition on growing food anywhere in the world. He looks at Joe and passes the bad news.
“I know what to look for, but the closest thing I could find is something like this, but that’s not what you were saying.” – he cools Joe off.
He continues to tell that he found something similar, but not for Australia. He shows the article to him, but the screen is not shared with the audience. According to Jamie, this is an article for some ‘restrictions’ for growing food, but applicable to New Zealand only.
“It’s got to be a real thing.” – Rogan says, dispirited. “It seems too good to not be.” “Not a single thing comes up.” Vernon explains. “Except for that, which was a false thing.”
Rogan with disbelief searches for the news on his phone. After a while he confirms the disappointing news. – “Yup, I can’t find it either. Damn it, it better not be fake. It might be fake.”
As it happens, the news is completely fake. Australians can grow their own food. As much as they want it. Following the episode, numerous tweets from Australian people emerge. They criticize the podcaster for insulting and ranting about something before checking his facts.
Is this a lesson for the podcaster? Did he drew any conclusion from all this?
