Nate Diaz Won’t Fight Conor McGregor – Is Diaz Washed Up?

Nate Diaz Won't Fight Conor McGregor - Is Diaz Washed Up?

We hear a lot from Nate Diaz lately but most of it is just an empty talk. He is in some kind of a beef with the UFC generally and he fluctuates around that whether he will accept, or not accept a fight.

Nathan Diaz has not been active in the octagon since June 2021. In one month, a full year of pause will be completed. Is this his fault, or is it the UFC promotion that is refusing to match him up with someone? In this rush of information and happenings on the UFC scene, this remains unclear for quite some time.

Nate Diaz Won’t Fight Conor McGregor, He Sucks

Nate Diaz is not what he initially was. He is not the same fighter that he was when he first started in the UFC. At that time he was a sensation to watch. His style and endurance in the octagon was something iconic. However, with time all of this started fading away slowly.

I mean, at times one cannot even get what the UFC sees in him after 2008. Until then he has 15 bouts and only two losses. After that – his evident downfall began. He started losing every second fight, lowering his record to 20-13-0.

For quite some time now Nate Diaz is looking to fulfill his contract and get out of the UFC. Since December he is forcing the UFC to arrange a fight for him, and now that they rumored they want to organize a Conor McGregor trilogy he tweeted the following:

“UFC, I been trying to fight everybody and no go, what’s the hold–up? I’m not fighting Conor, he sucks,” Diaz stated. “I’ll fight someone. Quit slow-rolling me, please. Thanks.”

Does he want or he doesn’t want to end his contract? Does he want the last fight?

I look at this as a major service that the UFC is looking to do for Nate Diaz. They want to arrange a fight for him with the most paid UFC fighter in the world. This also means that he can negotiate and take a larger chunk of the money pie.

Nevertheless, the welterweight is willing to fight Dustin Poirier. And this will is mutual. Both fighters have been pushing to get a chance to measure their strength. They were once about to meet in the octagon, back in 2018, however, due to an injury the bout was re-arranged.

Not having hair on his tongue is a trademark of the naughty Mexican-American. He speaks what he thinks and is very direct – regardless if it is something good or bad that he needs to tell.

In the past period, he publicly requested the UFC to release him and let him go even without a fight.

“I would like to request to be released from the UFC. I apologize for asking online but you don’t give me a fight ASAP, I got shit to do.”

According to many analytics, he might as well leave the UFC without a fight. It does not change much. He is not offering anything interesting for quite some time now.

What do you think? Is Nate Diaz worth the attention that he gets? Should they just release him?
