Alex Zayne & YOH couldn’t be more different in terms of style, and tonight that will become crystal clear as they meet for the first time ever. YOH has a very grounded and technical style, while Zayne is someone who can be best described as incredibly erratic and high risk. Coming into this match, YOH must win to stay in the running for the finals, while Zayne can potentially sustain a loss and still make the finals, though it wouldn’t be ideal.
YOH Does Everything He Can To Remain In The Mix
Zayne would grab a wrist lock, before YOH was able to block into a Hammerlock. Drop-toehold would catch Zayne, while setting up the sliding basement dropkick. YOH was dropped into the corner before a sudden cannonball senton, showing Zayne still has more tricks he’s not shown in this tournament.
A kick to the spine of YOH would land, before Zayne took a dropkick to the back of the knee. YOH went to the apron, baited in a kick – and hit a dragon screw in the ropes, before another off the apron. Take away the legs of Zayne, and there goes 90% of his offence – and YOH knows this.
Back into the ring, YOH would hit the Falcon Arrow, before avoiding the flipping leg drop and hitting another dragon screw before back to back kneebreakers. Zayne would hit a kick from the mat, but had no chance of following up.
YOH would strike away on Zayne, before taking a big boot to the face. Baja Blast was blocked into a kneebar, but Zayne was able to find the bottom rope. Taco Driver was blocked, before YOH hit a Dragon Suplex for the three count.
TJP Has Nothing Left To Lose, And Everything Left To Prove
Despite wrestling great matches, both BUSHI & TJP are officially out of the running for a finals in BOSJ 29. Tonight, they can’t even play spoiler to someone else’s tournament, but have a chance to take out some frustrations on each other and boost their point total before the tournament wraps up on Tuesday.
BUSHI started fast countering an attack from TJP, before sending him to the floor with an armdrag before following with a dive. Back into the ring, TJP would hit an armbreaker, before setting up the Muta Lock. BUSHI would break free, and hit a running hurricanrana.
A second rope dropkick would land, before BUSHI would block the Final Cut from TJP. Short range dropkick landed, before TJP hit the springboard forearm. Final Cut would land for a two count, before TJP looked for the Pinoy Stretch.
BUSHI would find the bottom rope to break free, before a dropkick to the knee and a backstabber. TJP blocked a dive with a dropkick, before nailing Mamba Splash. Pinoy Stretch was applied, and TJP forced the submission.
