Both Master Wato & DOUKI were able to match previous high scores in the tournament, getting six points. Now, they’re clashing with a chance to finish strong at eight points. DOUKI has a massive grudge against Wato over his time in CMLL as a young lion, and tonight will have a chance to prove himself.
Master Wato & DOUKI Kicks Action Off
These two would start fast with some forearm smashes in the middle of the ring, Wato winning before DOUKI hit a throat thrust. Wato missed a spin kick and slipped off the apron after missing a dive. DOUKI hit a DDT onto the floor, before a diving senton off the top rope.
Back in the ring, DOUKI CHOKEY would be applied, but Wato would fight free. Spin kick would land, before a dive over the top rope down to the floor. Wato would take an enziguri in the ring, before a swinging Northern Lights Suplex.
Daybreak DDT would be blocked, with Wato hitting a high angle German Suplex. Tenzan Tombstone Driver was blocked, and DOUKI CHOKEY would be applied. DOUKI tried to keep Wato centred, but got spiked with the TTD.
Wato missed a roundhouse kick, before taking a lariat from DOUKI. Daybreak DDT would land this time around, before Suplex De La Luna was blocked into Vendaval for the submission victory. Wato finishes the tournament at 8 points, and DOUKI finishes at 6 points.
Yoshinobu Kanemaru Doesn’t Get Paid By The Hour
On the final day of block action in the 2022 Best of The Super Juniors tournament, only two men have a chance to win the A-Block. They are not Ryusuke Taguchi & Yoshinobu Kanemaru, who will meet in the opening contest. Kanemaru has tiebreakers over both potential finalists in the block, but not enough points to make them useful – even with a win tonight.
All the same, Kanemaru would attack before the bell before taking a hip attack. Taguchi nailed the B-Triggers, before the Bummer-Ye missed. Kanemaru would roll Taguchi up and get sat on for a near fall. Manhattan Drops would follow, before Kanemaru got a light double leg clutch for the victory.
Ryusuke Taguchi finishes the tournament at six points. Kanemaru finishes his tournament at eight points, and got wins over the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, NEVER Six Man Champion & Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.
