A topless woman stormed the Cannes Film Festival during the premiere of “Three Thousand Years of Longing” in Ukrainian colours.
Topless Woman Storms The Cannes Festival To Protest Against The Russia-War-‘Stop Raping Us’
The woman took everyone by surprise by somehow managing to make it on the red carpet. In the picture here, we can see that the protestor is outraged.
She is clearly naked, as her body is covered in blue and yellow paint. The words ‘stop raping us’ are written on her body. Shortly thereafter, the woman was apprehended by security with force, much to her disapproval, as shown in the clip here.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “The woman in front of me stripped off all her clothes (covered in body paint) and fell to her knees screaming in front of photographers.
“Cannes authorities rushed over, covered her in a coat, & blocked my camera from filming.” The festival has already made its position on the Russia-Ukraine war clear after having previously declared that they had banned those with connections to the Russian government from attending.
Not only that, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had made a speech to open the film festival. In doing so, he spoke about the importance of the film industry in speaking out.
In his comments at the time, he remarked: “We need a new Chaplin who will demonstrate that the cinema of our time is not silent.”
The fans on social media ,however, ridiculed the protestor. This was not so much on the message that she may have wanted to get across, but it was primarily due to the manner in which she had done it.
After all, no one from the film industry seemed to have backed her up in any way. One person wrote: “It’s weird how she’s in there naked and crying out, screaming while the celebrities were still striking poses for the cameras.
“And they wonder why people laugh at them when they go to preach about social and political issues.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
