An Arizona UberEats driver was killed on June 11, 2022 but has solved her own murder. Pamela Rae Martinez was found non-responsive in Glendale, Arizona. She had been shot in her vehicle and the murder seemed like one that was going to require a great deal of investigation to solve.

However, authorities got something they rarely get in cases: a picture of the alleged killer just prior to the murder. Even rarer is that the picture was snapped by the person killed. According to a witness’ account, Martinez was parked next to a van on the side of the road.
A man was seen outside of Martinez’s vehicle before getting into his car and driving off. At that time, the witness says that Martinez’s car began to drive off, finishing her delivery. The witness observed the 60-year-old stopping her car and taking a picture of the man sitting in the van.
Rusty French (62) was brought in a suspect into shooting of Pamela Rae Martinez. The two didn’t know each other and Martinez wasn’t delivering food to him. During questioning, French admitted that the photo was of himself and couldn’t recollect anything else after four days.
A search of French’s house found a handgun that was a “ballistic match” for the gun used to kill Martinez. Rusty French has been charged with second-degree murder.
