Sam Asghari, a man best known for bring Britney Spears’ husband, is speaking out about how getting married to the pop star was ‘long overdue’ while describing their new life as husband and wife as ‘a fairytale’. During an appearance on ‘Good Morning America’ Asghari chatted about his latest projects while dishing on his highly-publicized romance with Britney. He did not seem shy about discussing Spears at all, telling the interviewer that “She’s amazing, she’s doing great,” before noting that “The husband thing hasn’t hit me yet.”
“I have to wear this thing now,” joked Asghari as he showed off his gold wedding band. “It’s nice, it’s a good rock. It’s heavy so I’m getting a workout with it”. When quizzed about how it was being a newlywed, Ashgari revealed, “It’s just been surreal. It’s been a minute, it was way overdue for us. We imagined this thing being a fairytale and it was. And we wanted to celebrate with, you know, our loved ones, our close people. We wanted to just celebrate, and that’s what we did.”

While Asghari was peppered with questions about his famous wife, he was at GMA to promote a new film he’s in called ‘Hot Seat’. The fitness instructor has dabbled in acting and modeling before, having met Britney when he starred in her ‘Slumber Party’ music video in 2016. Asghari may only play the role of a SWAT officer in the movie, but he got the opportunity to act alongside the likes of Mel Gibson, Shannen Doherty and Kevin Dillon.
Interestingly enough, Sam did acknowledge the fact that he’s only getting notoriety now because of his relationship with Britney, stating, “I didn’t really get noticed until, you know — my wife gave me, like this amazing platform to work with. So I’m always appreciative of that. And I’m always so grateful for that.”
Britney and Sam tied the knot on June 9 in a lavish ceremony on the singer’s property in Thousand Oaks, California. Britney walked down the aisle in a custom white wedding gown designed by Donatella Versace, who also attended the wedding. The list of people invited was exclusive to say the least, with major celebrities including Madonna, Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, and Selena Gomez in attendance.
Noticeably absent from the festivities was Britney’s estranged family, who have been publicly feuding ever since Britney was released from her thirteen-year conservatorship. But Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart, who was responsible for helping her regain her freedom, was one of the lucky people who made it on the guest list.
