Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has dealt with the majority of his sexual misconduct lawsuits and now only four remain. Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing Watson’s accusers made the announcement:
“Today I announce that all cases against Deshaun Watson, with the exception of four, have settled.”

As for what is holding up the other four cases, Buzbee explained that currently, they are dealing with the paperwork for the remaining settlements. “Once we have done so, those particular cases will be dismissed.” Of course, he would say that the specifics of the settlements—interesting tidbits such as the amounts paid out and terms—were confidential.
Buzbee would mention that Ashley Solis—the first accuser to reveal her name—hasn’t seen a settlement. The lawyer has spoken highly of Solis in length as well as what her being the face of the cases means going forward:
“The truth is, without her courage and willingness to come forward, the NFL wouldn’t currently be contemplating discipline; there would be no examination of how teams might knowingly or unknowingly enable certain behavior; sports teams wouldn’t be reviewing their personnel screen processes; and this important story wouldn’t have dominated the sports headlines for more than a year.”
Solis’ case is one that could go to trial as filings were made on June 16, 2022, and she has expressed wanting a court case against Watson. At the moment there are no hearings set for her case.
If you haven’t been in the loop on the Deshaun Watson situation, he’s been accused of sexual misconduct and sexual assault against 24 female massage therapists throughout 2020 during his time with the Houston Texans.
Watson would avoid a trial after a grand jury passed on it in March 2022. The 26-year-old athlete has maintained that the assaults and the misconduct never occurred.
Correction: Thank you to readers Justin and Rick who have pointed out that Watson is a quarterback and not a wide receiver.
