The wrestling world is still buzzing about the performance of Cody Rhodes at Hell in a Cell 2022. He would work the titular cell match of the event with Seth Rollins, enduring a torn tricep on his way to victory. It was one of the best babyface performances in recent memory, and Rhodes would enter surgery soon after. WWE would indicate that he will be out for 9 months after the procedure, but Rhodes himself might have different plans.
Cody Rhodes Plans To Be Back In Ring Sooner Than 9 Months
In a recent post to the Instagram story of Cody Rhodes, he’d post a picture of a gym – with the following text included.
“Sling off for rehab in the gym. I’ve heard 9 months, that’s their plan…“I’ve never concerned myself with other people’s projections – I’ve got a plan of my own – let’s finish, all of us.”
Givens Rhodes insisted on working the Hell in a Cell match with a torn tricep, it’s not insane to think he will push hard to return well ahead of schedule.
Shoot High To Make Every Return Seem Better
While it’s never easy to figure out just how long a return from injury will take, WWE will always tack an extra few months on top of that time. This makes sure that most times, someone returns ahead of schedule – and blow the minds of fans. Saying Rhodes would be out for 9 months could have ruled out a Royal Rumble return in the eyes of some fans, which will make his return all the more sweet.
Right now, Rhodes is truly needed in WWE – especially as plans for Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns have gone down due to Orton being injured. WWE have a lack of top babyfaces, and Cody Rhodes has the potential to be their biggest babyface in years. The sooner he can return, the bigger the reaction he will get.
