Meghan Markle has been slammed for her response to the Supreme Court overruling of Roe v Wade.
Feminists Harry And Meghan SLAMMED For Their Roe v Wade Stance-‘Don’t Think Anyone…Cares For Meghan Markle’s Opinion On Killing Babies’
The decision has now allowed individual states to decide whether or not abortion should be legal, as opposed to this being a Federal position across the board.
That position has caused a division in the US with protests being held over what people perceive to be a curbing of freedom of choice.
In response, the Duchess of Sussex gave a passionate interview in which she stated the following: “Nobody should be forced to make a decision they do not want to make, or is unsafe, or puts their own life in jeopardy.
“My husband and I talked about that a lot over the past few days. He’s a feminist too.” Those comments did not go down very well for the following reasons.
First of all, Meghan was accused of interfering in United States politics once again. This accusation first occurred when she was heavily criticized for sending a letter to Nancy Pelosi in which she advocated paid parental leave.
And this time around, things were no different. Republican Lisa McClain had this to say: “I don’t think anyone on this side of the pond cares for Meghan Markle’s opinion on killing babies.
“However, I think her running for President would be a great episode for The Crown.” In addition, a certain subset of people on social media slammed the Duchess’ stance.
This was on the basis that she was a mother herself, and yet, she had no qualms in advocating more liberal rules on abortion.
One person wrote: “I don’t understand why MM is talking about abortions in the same breath that she insists again that she has been pregnant and given birth.”
This topic was always going to be one of contention, and Meghan’s comments do not do anything to change that. The only question remaining is will this position backfire?
Time will tell. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
