Outside of WWE, Impact Wrestling gets a lot of disrespect, especially when compared to All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Impact Wrestling is underappreciated for not only what it does, but what it does not do.
Looking at both companies, it is clear to see that they both have heavy WWE influences, which is to be expected.
The difference between the two, however, starts to show when you take a long look at both companies’ roster of talent.
Of course, they are both peppered with former WWE talent. How could they not be?
What sets them apart is the level of talent gotten from WWE, how that acquired talent is used, and what is the ramifications of that talent being acquired.
Breaking Down Impact Wrestling Over All Elite Wrestling
There is no doubt that AEW is the closest company to WWE in the USA in terms of size and visibility.
While that is a good thing, AEW makes it a bad thing.
What Impact Wrestling does so well that instantly makes me have more respect for them than simple and what AEW prided itself on before it started…
It is truly something different than WWE.
In AEW’s constant efforts to be a true alternative to their “big brother”, they have become basically another NXT.
Even though Impact has former WWE guys, they do not have the guys that you would know or remember from the show.
AEW on the other hand not only have former WWE guys up and down their roster, but they also have them on the announce team, the backstage roles, and the front office.
It really is ridiculous. Because of this, I pose a question.
Which is worse? The fact that week after week, AEW constantly bites the hand that feeds their entire existence or that the fans do not see that they actually like WWE?
