At NXT 2.0: In Your House, Santos Escobar and the rest of Legado Del Fantasma were absorbed into the Tony D’Angelo family. Now, Toy D’Angelo calls the shots – so after a few days of running errands, Escobar was told at the last minute to get his gear on for a match. To make matters worse, it isn’t against a slouch – but rather the rising star of Nathan Frazier. This former NXT UK star has been making
Santos Escobar Gets Costed His Match Against Nathan Frazier
Without his own music, Escobar would hit the ring alongside Tony D’Angelo. Still, he’d start fast against Frazier hitting a monkey flip before grabbing a rear waist lock. Frazier would shove his way free before hitting a hurricanrana. Escobar was sent into the corner, before arguing with D’Angelo at ringside and taking a dropkick.
Frazier would look for the dive, but Escobar was able to avoid it. An enziguri on the apron would land to Frazier, before Escobar nailed the Arrow From The Depths Of Hell. D’Angelo would tell him to stop using that move, and that no one even enjoys seeing it.
Back in the ring, a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker would land, before Escobar would maintain control. He’d bend the neck of Frazier around the post, before hitting the floating senton over the top rope. Frazier would then have his back bent around the post, before some forearm blows would add in some extra damage.
Frazier fired back with some wild strikes, before another tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Surfboard Stretch would be applied, but Frazier would power his way free before being launched face first into the mat. Boston Crab was applied, but Frazier would get the bottom rope.
Frazier would hit the massive running forearm smash, before hitting some lariats. Moonsault setup into Final Cut would set up the Shooting Star Press, before Escobar would look to set up the Phantom Driver.
Frazier would instead take a superkick, and Two Dimes shoved Escobar a crowbar. He’d slide it back, but took a superkick and Phoenix Splash for the finish. He’d be verbally abused by D’Angelo following the match, and it’s clear that things are just getting started with this storyline.
Apollo Crews Is Back In NXT Full Time
This past Sunday, Bron Breakker was able to control his anger – and push towards a victory over Joe Gacy. Now, the NXT Champion will need to find out who his next challenger could possibly be.
He’d hit the ring and say that this was a major battle – with Gacy making things personal. However, he wasn’t able to do enough to take the NXT Championship away from Breakker. That match wasn’t just about him however, it was about NXT – a brand which remains special.
Everyone wants a chance to be champion, but who will step up next. Apollo Crews is back in NXT, and is gunning for the prize he never got to claim. He’s a former WWE Intercontinental & United States Champion, and has been having issues finding his place lately. Welcome back chants would land, and this is the type of energy Crews was missing.
He’s back to the NXT roster full time, and has been watching the rise of Breakker. Crews is keen on making history with Breakker, but plans to build up to this challenge.
